Activity Café

Coffee, cake and a side of friendly competition.

ACCEPTING BOOKINGS FROM LATE OCTOBER 2025

See the activities...

A café where you can relax, catch up or compete.

Our café comes with a twist.

Yes, there's coffee, cake and places for you to sit, chill and unwind.

But there's also breakout spaces with digital versions of classics like darts & pool, and other favourites like table tennis and football, for you to get your game on.

Augmented Reality Darts

The classic pub game, with a playful digital twist

This is darts, but not as you know it.

With Augmented Reality Darts at Sostena, you’ll still step up to the oche with real darts in hand, but the board is powered by smart tech that brings every game to life.

From animated targets and multiplayer party modes to new spins on old-school rules, AR Darts is an interactive way to challenge your reflexes...and each other.

It's for groups, quick challenges between sessions, or winding down after a workout.

    • Up to 6 players can join a game, depending on the mode you choose.

Prices are per session, not per person, so it’s great value for groups.

    • Yes, find out more about how to do that here.

    • There’s a standard session fee for AR Darts, which covers the whole group,  not just one person.

If you’re a paid member, you’ll get a discounted rate of between 20–33% off, depending on your membership type.

See the price list for all activities here.

    • Not at all.

This isn’t virtual reality: it’s augmented reality.

That means the darts and board are real, and the tech adds digital features directly onto the surface. No headsets, goggles, or gear needed.

    • The dartboard is enhanced with digital projection and tracking tech.

It knows exactly where your dart lands and overlays animations, scoreboards, and challenges directly onto the board in real time, making each throw more dynamic and immersive.

    • Definitely. AR Darts is easy to pick up, with a mix of classic dart games and fun, interactive challenges.

Whether you’re new to darts or just haven’t played in years, it’s designed to be enjoyable for everyone. There's no need for pro-level aim.

    • Yes, but younger players should be supervised, as it involves real darts with steel tips.

The interactive screen adds a video game-style layer to the experience, which younger visitors love, but we recommend adult guidance to keep things safe and fun.

Augmented Reality Pool

Classic pool, reimagined with interactive graphics

AR Pool takes a traditional game and adds a high-tech twist.

Using overhead projection, sensors and visual effects, your game comes to life with interactive animations, scorekeeping, and light-based mini games, all designed to enhance your experience without changing the fundamentals of pool.

And if you just want to play it like a normal game of pool? You can do that too. The interactive layer is optional.

    • Up to 4 players can take part in a game, depending on the mode.

Play singles, doubles, or quick-fire tournaments.

    • Yes, find out more about how to do that here.

    • There’s a standard session fee for AR Pool, which covers the whole group,  not just one person.

If you’re a paid member, you’ll get a discounted rate of between 20–33% off, depending on your membership type.

    • Not at all.

This isn’t virtual reality: it’s augmented reality.

That means the pool balls, cues and table are real, and the tech adds digital features directly onto the surface. No headsets, goggles, or gear needed.

    • The pool table is enhanced with digital projection and tracking tech.

It knows exactly where your balls are on the table and overlays animations, scoreboards, and challenges directly onto the table in real time, making each play more dynamic and immersive.

    • Each session is 55 minutes long, giving you plenty of time for a couple of games or one longer match.

You can also book multiple sessions back-to-back if you want to make an afternoon or evening of it.

iCourt Games

A mix of digital challenges and ball games

iCourt transforms a squash court into a giant, responsive game screen.

Using motion tracking, ball detection and interactive projection, the entire court becomes part of the action, with games that blend skill, reflexes, and movement in a totally new way.

And if you’d rather play a traditional squash match? You can do that too. The iCourt games are completely optional, the court works exactly like a regular squash court whenever you want.

    • Up to 4 players can join in, depending on the game mode you choose.

    • Yes, find out more about how to do that here.

    • There’s a standard session fee for use of the iCourt, which covers the whole group,  not just one person.

If you’re a paid member, you’ll get a discounted rate of between 20–33% off, depending on your membership type.

See the price list for all activities here.

    • Not at all. Everything is projected onto the court walls, so you stay fully aware and in control.

You’ll be using real racquets, moving freely and interacting with the environment just like you would in a normal game.

    • Unlike virtual reality, where you wear a headset and step into a digital world, augmented reality adds interactive digital elements to the real one.

In iCourt, that means the walls of the court light up with visuals, animations, targets and games that respond to your movement, ball hits and decisions in real time.

You’re still holding a real racquet, running on a real floor, and swinging at real targets, but the court comes alive with projected challenges, points, and visual feedback that react as you play.

    • Each session lasts 55 minutes, giving you plenty of time to get stuck into the games, switch modes or take turns if you’ve got a group.

You’re welcome to book more than one session if you want to extend your time.

Table Tennis

Classic, fast-paced fun

Whether you’re playing singles or doubles, table tennis is a brilliant way to get moving, sharpen your reflexes, and have a few laughs along the way.

You’ll find our table in the Activity Café area, just steps from great coffee and good company. Bats and balls are provided, but you can always bring your own if you’ve got a lucky paddle.

    • You can play solo for practice, 1-on-1 for a classic match, or doubles with four players.

    • Booking is recommended, especially during busy times, but it’s not essential.

If the table’s free when you arrive, you’re welcome to play—just ask whether we're expecting someone who has booked.

Table Football

The timeless game of skill and quick reflexes

Take on your friends or family in this table-based game of skill and reactions.

It’s easy to learn, fun for all ages, and just as good for a quick game in the café as it is for setting up your own mini-tournament.

    • Up to 4 people can play at a time, split across two teams of two. If more of you want to come, then you can take it in turns with your own mini-tournaments or shootouts.

    • Booking is recommended, especially during busy times, but it’s not essential.
