With Augmented Reality Darts at Sostena, you’ll still step up to the oche with real darts in hand, but the board is powered by smart tech that brings every game to life. From animated targets and multiplayer party modes to new spins on old-school rules, AR Darts is an interactive way to challenge your reflexes...and each other. It's for groups, quick challenges between sessions, or winding down after a workout. Learn more How many people can play? Up to 6 players can join a game, depending on the mode you choose. It knows exactly where your dart lands and overlays animations, scoreboards, and challenges directly onto the board in real time, making each throw more dynamic and immersive. Is it suitable for beginners? Definitely. AR Darts is easy to pick up, with a mix of classic dart games and fun, interactive challenges. Whether you’re new to darts or just haven’t played in years, it’s designed to be enjoyable for everyone. There's no need for pro-level aim. Is it safe for kids? It’s designed for people who want to reach goals like toning up, getting back into moving, staying young, losing weight or boosting their performance in a current sport, but without the guesswork or stress of a traditional gym. How does it work when I’m training? Once you’ve had your Technogym CheckUp and chosen your fitness goal, your personalised programme is saved to your App or wristband. From then on, it’s simple: Just tap in at the kiosk to start. The machine recognises who you are and guides you to your starting station. This makes sure that you don't interrupt others who may already be doing their session, and that your workout is continuous. The BioCircuit tells you which machine to go to next, how long you'll use it for and what exercises to do. As you move between machines, each will automatically know who you are and adjust to your seat, weight, tempo and range of motion, so it's already ready for you as you get to it, even in the fast tempo of the BioCircuit. Each resistance exercise lasts 45 seconds, and each cardio exercise lasts 3.5 minutes, with 30 seconds rest as you move to the next station. You’ll complete two full laps, with cardio machines evenly spaced to balance your effort and recovery. There’s no need to plan your workout or remember your settings, everything is done for you. You won’t need to wait for a start time either. BioCircuit is always running in the background, so it drops you in at the right point in the flow and keeps your whole session seamless. What’s the layout? Our BioCircuit is set up in a circular formation with 12 machines: 6 strength machines: Adductor Leg press Abdominal Should press Chest press Vertical traction 2 types of cardio machines: 3 running machines 3 bikes Support stations (for warming up or cooling down): Bike Rowing machine Mats with foam rollers, exercise balls & resistance bands This layout means there’s a clear path around the circuit, and you’ll move from one machine to the next in a set order. How is this different to other workout spaces? It’s completely personalised and adapts automatically to your progress. It’s time-efficient, so just 30 minutes is all you need for a proper full-body session. It’s beginner-friendly, with no need for prior gym knowledge because the machines set themselves up for you and tell you the effort you need to put in. It's ready for when you arrive, so even if people are already part way through their sessions, the system knows you're just joining. This means you can just turn up, tap in (or login) and go. The type of resistance changes to your goals, which cant be done with traditional weights, from protecting joints (assisted start), returning from injury (elastic), increasing your power (Viscous resistance) to building muscle (eccentric weight increase). Do I need to book, or can I just turn up? If you’re not yet a member, you’ll need to book your free induction first. That’s where we’ll set you up with your Wellness Score and show you how it all works. If you’re already a member, please book your BioCircuit slot via the Technogym app. This helps make sure there’s space in the circuit and keeps everything running smoothly. What if someone else is already using one of the machines? Provided there's space for you, the system automatically adjusts your route so you don’t have to wait. It keeps everything flowing, even when others are training. How hard will it push me? The machines are designed to work within your limits and adjust gradually over time. You’ll always feel challenged, but never overwhelmed. Is BioCircuit good for older adults or people returning to exercise? Yes. It’s ideal if you want a safe, structured, and confidence-building way to get stronger, fitter, or more mobile at your own pace. What if I want to change my goals later on? Easy. If you know how to do it yourself, you can adjust your goal on the BioCircuit kiosk before starting your circuit. Otherwise, just speak to one of the team, and we’ll update your profile in a few taps. Your workouts will adapt straight away. Fitness Hub Your flexible space for strength, cardio, mobility and movement The Hub is an open versatile space, a calm airy environment where you can train solo, join small group sessions or follow guided workouts on screens using the latest gym equipment. Whether you are here to improve your mobility, boost cardio or build strength, you’ll find everything you need. From gentle walks around Lake Como on the treadmill, streamed Pilates & Yoga sessions to follow, Elite Training Sessions on the rower or bike led by Olympic athletes, our tech has screen led workouts for all abilities to follow….. or you can just do your own thing, both work here. How does it work when I'm training? You can keep things simple or mix it up. Jump on a bike for a steady session. Head to the running machine for a quick burst. Or move between stations and build your own mini workout. There’s guided content available if you’d like a bit of direction, but nothing telling you what you have to do. It’s your session, your pace. What’s in the Fitness Hub? The space is set up like a small, open gym area, with a mix of cardio and strength equipment: Cardio: Running machine Bikes Rower Strength & functional: Dual-access pulley machine Free weights Benches There’s also guided content available to follow if you want a bit of structure while you train. How is this different to BioCircuit? BioCircuit guides you through a set workout. The Fitness Hub gives you freedom. If you like knowing exactly what to do and when, BioCircuit’s perfect. If you’d rather choose your own pace, spend longer on certain exercises, or just keep things simple, the Fitness Hub is where people tend to settle in. A lot of members use both. One for structure, one for flexibility. Do I need to book the Fitness Hub? It's not necessary but highly recommended to make sure you get a slot. While you don’t absolutely need to book if you’re just dropping in for a solo session, as the Fitness Hub is open and available for general use, it is often reserved for a class, private use or for an induction. So, it's best to come prepared. If you’d like to take part in a small-group session or instructor-led activity in the room, you’ll be able to book those in advance through the Technogym app or by speaking to a member of our team. It’s a shared space, so we just ask everyone to be mindful of others using it, and our team is always nearby if you have questions or want help getting started. Can I use the equipment if I’m new to fitness? Absolutely. Everything in the Fitness Hub is beginner-friendly and designed to help you build confidence. The rower and bikes are low-impact and easy to adjust. The Visio screen gives you access to workouts with clear, guided instructions. You can go at your own pace and focus on what feels right for you. Can I workout with my friends? Yes, the Fitness Hub is perfect for small group training. You’re welcome to bring a friend, train together, or use the Visio screen side-by-side. The only requirement is that everyone using the room must have been onboarded to Sostena; that means they’ve had a quick induction and know how to use the equipment safely and confidently. If your friend hasn’t been onboarded yet, they’ll just need to book a free induction before joining you. As long as there isn’t a class scheduled, you can drop in and train together. If you’re unsure when it’s free, just check with the team or look on the Technogym app. The Fitness Hub The Fitness Hub Technogym bikes The Fitness Hub Technogym rower The Fitness Hub Technogym Visio Programmes The Fitness Hub Dual Access Pulley The Fitness Hub The Fitness Hub Technogym bikes The Fitness Hub Technogym rower The Fitness Hub Technogym Visio Programmes The Fitness Hub Dual Access Pulley The Fitness Hub The Fitness Hub Technogym bikes The Fitness Hub Technogym rower The Fitness Hub Technogym Visio Programmes The Fitness Hub Dual Access Pulley The Fitness Hub The Fitness Hub Technogym bikes The Fitness Hub Technogym rower The Fitness Hub Technogym Visio Programmes The Fitness Hub Dual Access Pulley The Fitness Hub The Fitness Hub Technogym bikes The Fitness Hub Technogym rower The Fitness Hub Technogym Visio Programmes The Fitness Hub Dual Access Pulley The Fitness Hub The Fitness Hub Technogym bikes The Fitness Hub Technogym rower The Fitness Hub Technogym Visio Programmes The Fitness Hub Dual Access Pulley Our squash court Interactive squash Squash court Interactive squash court The interactive squash court Our squash court Interactive squash Squash court Interactive squash court The interactive squash court Our squash court Interactive squash Squash court Interactive squash court The interactive squash court Our squash court Interactive squash Squash court Interactive squash court The interactive squash court Our squash court Interactive squash Squash court Interactive squash court The interactive squash court Our squash court Interactive squash Squash court Interactive squash court The interactive squash court Interactive squash & racketball Fitness that doesn’t feel like the gym Book Want to burn more calories faster? Rated the worlds healthiest sport in Forbes magazine. Add a bit of variety to your workout Squash & Racketball combine cardio, muscular endurance and mental agility to give you a full body workout. Use it like a normal court or switch on the high tech projection & motion tracking functions to hone your skills, play more relaxed “fun” interactive games or use it to practice your padel and pickleball skills. Whether you’re playing solo, bringing the kids, or inviting a friend, you can tailor it to suit your energy and goals. How does it work? You’ll play on a full-size squash court, with or without the interactive system turned on. Want to keep things classic? Play as normal. Want something different? Switch on the projection wall and choose your mode, from reaction games to skill drills and fitness-based challenges. The system tracks your shots and movements in real time, with light-up targets, live feedback and scoring. What racketsports are available in the court? Squash & Racketball You can choose to play standard or interactive versions of squash and racketball. For the standard versions, you'll just play in a typical court. For the interactive versions, you'll get a complete gaming experience with motion tracking, scoring and challenges. Paddleball & Pickleball The interactive court also gives you the option of having a training session of paddleball and pickleball. This session is designed to give you a taste of how these sports work, so you can play them in your own time. But please note, the court isn't designed to host standard versions of these games. Do I need to book the court in advance? Yes. To make sure the space is available when you want it, we recommend booking your slot via the Technogym app or by speaking to reception. You can book it for yourself, for a pair or a small group. Do I need to use the interactive features? Not at all. The court works just like a normal squash/racketball/pickleball court if that’s what you prefer. The interactive projection system is optional and easy to switch on or off. Whether you're looking for a focused practice session or a light-up challenge, the space adapts to you. Do I need to bring anything with me? All you’ll need is clean court shoes — no black soles, please — and comfortable clothing. If you’d like to play squash/racketball/pickleball, you’re welcome to bring your own racket and ball, or borrow one from reception (subject to availability). Can kids use the court too? Yes, definitely. The interactive modes are great for kids and families: they’re intuitive, colourful, and designed to get everyone moving. For safety, we ask that an adult is always present during family sessions. Our team will be happy to help you find the right game mode for your group. Is it suitable for beginners? Absolutely. You don’t need to already be a squash, racketball or pickleball player to enjoy the space. The interactive modes are designed to be fun and accessible, and the court can be used in a relaxed way. Table Tennis Classic, fast-paced fun Whether you’re playing singles or doubles, table tennis is a brilliant way to get moving, sharpen your reflexes, and have a few laughs along the way. You’ll find our table in the Activity Café area, just steps from great coffee and good company. Bats and balls are provided, but you can always bring your own if you’ve got a lucky paddle. How many people can play? You can play solo for practice, 1-on-1 for a classic match, or doubles with four players. Do I need to book the table tennis table? Booking is recommended, especially during busy times, but it’s not essential. If the table’s free when you arrive, you’re welcome to play—just ask whether we're expecting someone who has booked. You can find out more about how to book here . How much is it to play? There’s a standard session fee for use of the table tennis table, which covers the whole group, not just one person. If you’re a paid member, you’ll get a discounted rate of between 20–33% off, depending on your membership type. See the price list for all activities here. How long is a session? Each session lasts 55 minutes, giving you plenty of time to get stuck into the games, switch modes or take turns if you’ve got a group. You’re welcome to book more than one session if you want to extend your time. The functional fitness area is built for movement-focused sessions, combining coordination, mental agility, strength, cardio & rehab mobility in one adaptable space. What sessions are held here? We use this area for functional circuit sessions, bootcamps, sport/team specific training, small group PT sessions, mobility training, rehab sessions and more. Some sessions are high energy, others are slower and more controlled. How does it work when I'm training? Each session is guided, but no two feel exactly the same. You might move between stations, work in short bursts, or focus on specific movements depending on the session. Some are more fitness-focused, others are built around mobility, recovery or sport-specific training. It’s less about following a fixed path, and more about getting stuck in. What's the layout? Functional Circuits take place in a flexible training area, using a mix of open space and equipment. Depending on the session, this can include: The squash court space Open floor areas for movement-based training Equipment for strength, conditioning and mobility Because the space is adaptable, it can be set up differently each time to suit the session. What equipment is available? TRX & Bodyweight training Kettlebells Sandbags Weighted vests Battle Ropes Skipping ropes Air bike Skierg Agility ladder Poles and reaction lights Box jumps Resistance runs & mobility equipment Pull up bars Dip bars and How is this different to BioCircuit? BioCircuit is structured and individual. Functional Circuits are more open and social. Instead of moving machine to machine on your own, you’ll train as part of a group, often with more varied exercises and a bit more energy in the room. If BioCircuit is about guided efficiency, this is about movement, variety and shared sessions. The Studio A quiet space to understand your starting point & recover The Studio is a more private, flexible space used for one-to-one sessions, assessments and recovery-focused work. It’s where you go when you want a bit more guidance, a bit more space, or a bit more attention on how your body’s moving and feeling. What is this space used for? The space is set up to support movement, assessment and recovery. This includes: The Technogym Checkup (for assessments) Space for PT sessions and guided work Mobility and recovery tools (like massage equipment and movement aids) It’s designed to be adaptable depending on what the session needs. How do I use the CheckUp Pod in The Studio? If you’re not sure where to begin, this is a good place to start. The Technogym CheckUp is a guided session that gives you a clearer picture of your body and how it moves. In around 40–50 minutes, it looks at things like strength, balance, mobility and more, then brings it all together into a simple Wellness Score and a plan that fits you. It all happens in a dedicated pod here in The Studio, using smart sensors and easy, step-by-step guidance on screen. Once you’re done, everything syncs straight to your Technogym app or wristband. From there, many of the machines across Sostena will already know your setup, adjusting to your body and your goals as you go. You don’t have to do a CheckUp to use the space. But if you’re planning to use the BioCircuits or Fitness Hub, it’s well worth it. It helps shape a programme around you, not the other way round, and can highlight small imbalances before they turn into bigger issues. Most importantly, it meets you where you are. Whether you’re getting back into movement or just curious about your fitness, it gives you a starting point that feels clear and manageable. How does it work when I'm in The Studio? Most sessions in the Studio are guided. You might be working with a coach, going through an induction, or focusing on mobility and recovery. It’s less about jumping between equipment, and more about taking your time and doing things properly. How is this different to other Sostena spaces? The Studio is quieter and more focused. Where BioCircuit is structured and the Fitness Hub is flexible, the Studio is about support. It’s where you slow things down, learn what works for your body, and build confidence before taking that into other spaces. Is it suitable for beginners or people getting back into fitness? Your Sostena fitness journey starts here, we help you understand where you are now and what might work best for you without overcomplicating things. After your initial assessment you can let our digital coach guide you (for free!) and come back and use our tech to check on your progress (also for free!), or book in to work with one of our specialist trainers to personalise your experience further. Do I need to book The Studio? Yes, sessions in the Studio are usually booked. That helps make sure the space is available and set up properly for what you’re coming in to do. You’ll find equipment ready to help you warm up gently, cool down, or ease into movement at your own pace. Need something more structured? Bolt-on a 15-minute session via the Technogym App or talking to a member of our team. What equipment is available? You’ll find a range of recovery and mobility tools ready to use, including mats, foam rollers, exercise balls, resistance bands, a Technogym rower and Technogym bike. Can I just use this area without doing a main workout? If you’ve booked access to any fitness space, you’re free to use this area however you like during your visit. Some members use it to start slowly, others use it to stretch, reset or recover on quieter days. Just check in at reception if you’re unsure. What are bolt-on sessions? Bolt-ons are short, focused workouts you can add before or after your main session, like a warm-up ride, abdominal blast or working on mobility. You can choose and launch them directly through the Technogym App, and they’re designed to complement your training goals. In just 40-50 minutes, it measures things like strength, balance, mobility and more, giving you a Wellness Score and a training plan tailored to you. Your results sync straight to your profile (stored in your app / on your wristband), and many machines we have here will adjust to your body and goals from the moment you start a workout. What is the CheckUp pod? Technogym CheckUp is a quick, guided assessment that gives you a deeper understanding of your body, fitness and wellbeing and unlocks a training plan that’s made for you. The CheckUp takes place using a dedicated pod in our fitness space. Using motion sensors, touchpoints and optional accessories, it gently measures things like balance, strength, mobility, body composition, cognitive skills and cardio fitness. From all of this, it calculates something called your Wellness Score, which is a simple number that helps you (and us) understand where you’re at and how best to move forward. Once your CheckUp is complete, your programme will be sent to the Technogym app (or uploaded to your Technogym wristband) and automatically recognised by many of the machines you use at Sostena. What does it measure? The CheckUp covers six key areas of your health and fitness: Mobility: How well your joints move and your flexibility range Balance: How stable and coordinated you are during movement Body Composition: Muscle mass, fat ratio, water levels, and more Strength: Grip strength and muscle capacity, adapted for your level Cardio Fitness: How efficiently your heart and lungs support activity Cognitive Skills: Attention, memory and mental processing You’ll get a simple breakdown of your results, and your Wellness Score, straight after the assessment. Do I need to do the CheckUp before I use the equipment? No, you can use all of our equipment without the CheckUp. However, for the BioCircuits & Fitness Hub specifically, it is highly recommended. That's because it’s part of how we personalise your experience at Sostena. Your CheckUp gives us a baseline for your fitness and wellbeing, and it is how many of our Technogym machines adapt to your body safely. It'll help you to get the most out of your workout and prevent injuries by identifying imbalances from your lifestyle, work or existing sports, creating a more tailored programme for you. Once you've done it, your programme syncs across the equipment and the app or your wristband, so you're ready to go. How long does the CheckUp take? The full CheckUp takes around 40 - 50 minutes. It’s designed to be efficient but thorough, enough to give you a solid overview of where you’re at without eating into your day. You’ll get your results immediately, along with an automatic sync to your Technogym app, wristband or your simple login profile. Is it difficult or intense? Not at all. The CheckUp is designed to meet you where you are. Most of the tasks are gentle and straightforward, with clear instructions on screen and support from our team if you need it. It’s suitable for all fitness levels, and you’ll never be asked to push beyond what feels safe or comfortable. What happens after I complete it? Once you've finished your CheckUp, your results are saved to your profile and your personalised training plan is created. You can view your Wellness Score and breakdown in the Technogym app. From that point on, most of the Technogym equipment you use at Sostena will adjust to your needs and support your goals. Can I repeat the CheckUp? Absolutely. In fact, we encourage it, especially if you’re aiming to improve specific aspects of your fitness. You can redo your CheckUp at any time to track your progress, refresh your Wellness Score, or set new goals. Just book your slot via the Technogym app or speak to a team member at reception. Do I need to prepare anything before I do it? No special prep is needed, just wear comfortable clothing and arrive a few minutes early so we can guide you in. It’s best to avoid doing the CheckUp straight after intense exercise or a large meal to get the most accurate results. If you have any injuries or mobility issues, let us know beforehand so we can tailor the experience accordingly. This gives you a chance to take a look around with a member of the team, try out the equipment and complete your Technogym CheckUp, which is a short, guided assessment that helps you understand your fitness starting point and get personalised training suggestions. It’s a relaxed, no‑pressure way to see if Sostena’s right for you. And if you decide to sign up for a paid membership later, you can do that anytime. What's included in the free look around? The free look around is a relaxed, one‑to‑one session designed to help you get started at Sostena. Here’s what to expect, but we can adjust it based on how long you have available: A guided tour of the venue so you can see the fitness pods, café, social areas and squash court, and ask any questions along the way. Do I need to be fit to join? Not at all. Sostena is designed to support every level of fitness, including if you’re just getting started. Whether you’ve never stepped into a gym before, you’re coming back after a break, or you’re managing a health condition, everything at Sostena is set up to meet you where you are. Our Technogym CheckUp helps you understand your starting point, and the guided BioCircuit adapts to your ability, so there's no need for you to remember settings or push beyond what feels right. Classes are available for all levels, with gentler options if you’re looking to build confidence or ease into movement gradually. You can also book a free look around , where we’ll show you around, introduce the equipment and answer any questions you might have. In short: there’s no ‘minimum level’ required, so just bring yourself and we’ll help you find your own way forward. Can I use the space without having a Technogym Checkup? Yes, you don’t need to complete the Technogym CheckUp to use the space, but it does unlock more of what Sostena has to offer. If you’re just here for a class, a squash match or a coffee in the café, you can book and enjoy those without doing a CheckUp. And if you’d like to use our Technogym BioCircuit or Fitness Hub, while it's not essential, the CheckUp is strongly recommended. It takes just a few minutes and helps some of our equipment tailor your sessions to your body and goals adjusting resistance, seat settings and timing automatically. You can complete your CheckUp during a free look around or by booking it as a standalone session via the Technogym app or by talking to a member of staff. It’s quick, non-invasive, and gives you useful insights into your fitness, whether you’re just starting out or already active. So while it’s not essential, it’s a helpful step if you want to make the most of the space. If you'd like to see it in action before you decide, why not head to our explainer or book your free look around? Can I freeze or cancel my membership? You can cancel your membership anytime, but freezing isn’t currently available. You'll need to manage your membership through your Technogym account. Further information There’s no long‑term contract or cancellation fee: your plan will simply run until the end of the current billing period. If you're on an annual membership, your access continues until the year is up, and it will renew unless you choose to cancel. If you're unsure which option is best or need help making changes, feel free to get in touch . We're always happy to help you find what works. Technogym CheckUp & Onboarding What is the Technogym CheckUp? The Technogym CheckUp is a short, guided assessment that helps you understand your current fitness level and tailor your training to suit you. It takes around 40-50 minutes and is done using Technogym’s smart equipment. You’ll complete a few gentle movements that measure things like strength, balance and flexibility. From there, the system creates a personal profile that’s used to customise your workouts, including setting the right resistance, timing, and seat positions for the BioCircuit and some of our other equipment. You don’t need to be fit to do a CheckUp because it’s designed for all abilities and is completely non‑judgemental. You can complete one during your free induction, or book it separately when you’re ready. It’s not mandatory, but it does make your sessions smarter, safer, and more effective, especially if you're new to exercise or want a clear starting point. What does the Technogym CheckUp 'Wellness Score' mean? The Wellness Score is a simple number that gives you an overview of your current health and fitness status, based on the results of your Technogym CheckUp. It takes into account several factors, like strength, balance, flexibility, body composition and cardiovascular fitness, to give you a score out of 100. The higher your score, the more balanced and active your overall wellness profile is. This score isn’t about being “fit” in a traditional sense; it’s a starting point. It helps you understand where you are right now and guides the system to create a training plan that works for you. As you continue moving, training and using the space, your score can change over time, giving you a clear, motivating way to track progress beyond just weight or fitness. You don’t need to hit any targets. The Wellness Score is just one more tool to help you feel your best, in your own way. How often should I redo my Technogym CheckUp? There’s no set rule, but we recommend redoing your CheckUp every 8–12 weeks to keep your training plan up to date and track how things are progressing. As your fitness improves or your goals change, a fresh CheckUp helps ensure your BioCircuit sessions are still working for you, adjusting things like resistance, timing, and movement range to match your current level. You can book a new CheckUp anytime through the Technogym app, or simply speak to a member of staff next time you’re in. It only takes a few minutes, and you’ll get an updated Wellness Score to help you stay motivated and informed. Even small improvements can be a big boost, so rechecking regularly is a great way to see how far you’ve come. What happens during my CheckUp? Your Technogym CheckUp is a short, guided session that takes around 40-50 minutes. It’s designed to be approachable and useful, whether you’re new to fitness or just new to Sostena. Here’s what’s involved: Introduction & setup: We’ll get you logged into the system using your Technogym account, which stores your results and helps you track progress over time. Guided movement assessment: You’ll complete a few simple exercises on the equipment, but nothing intense or intimidating. These might include balance tests, controlled movements, or light resistance tasks to measure strength, flexibility and coordination. Receive your Wellness Score: Once complete, you’ll get a Wellness Score (out of 100), which is a snapshot of your current health and fitness status. Get tailored recommendations: Your results are used to automatically adjust settings on the BioCircuit and other equipment, creating a personalised training experience that matches your level. It’s quick, helpful, and built to support your goals from day one. Can I do the Technogym CheckUp without joining? Yes, you can complete the Technogym CheckUp as part of a free look around Sostena , without needing to join as a paid member. The free look around is open to everyone and gives you a relaxed introduction to the space. As part of that session, you’ll be guided through your first CheckUp so you can see how it works, try the equipment, and get your Wellness Score. There’s no commitment required because it’s simply a chance to explore what Sostena offers and decide if it’s right for you. If you choose to join afterwards, great. If not, no problem. The free look around (and the CheckUp) is there to support you either way. Do I need to do the Technogym CheckUp before using the equipment? You don’t need to do a Technogym CheckUp to use all of the equipment, but for certain areas, it’s strongly recommended. Here’s the breakdown: Technogym BioCircuit and other Technogym equipment: While you can use them without it, it's strongly recommended that you complete a Technogym CheckUp before your first session. The CheckUp sets your personalised profile, including resistance levels, seat positions, and timing, so the equipment can automatically adapt to you. Other fitness activities (like classes or squash): No CheckUp required. You can book and take part straight away, whether you're on a free or paid membership. Activity Café games and social spaces: No CheckUp needed, so just book your slot and enjoy. If you're not sure whether you’ll use the BioCircuit or other Technogym equipment yet, you can still book a free look around to try the CheckUp and decide from there. How Sostena Works Do I need to book each session? Yes, to help manage the flow of people and make sure there’s space and equipment available, we ask all members to book sessions in advance. Here’s how it works: Fitness sessions (BioCircuit, Fitness Hub, Squash Court, The Studio, Bolt-Ons): These are booked through the Technogym app. If you’d prefer not to use the app, you can also contact us directly and we’ll book it for you. Activity Café sessions (AR darts, UV ping-pong, etc.): These are booked via your membership area within the Sostena website. Booking helps ensure you get the slot you want and lets us keep things running smoothly for everyone. The length of your booking window depends on your membership type. For example, Casual members can book up to 7 days ahead, while paid plans offer up to 14 days and other perks. If you’re ever unsure, just ask a member of the team who will be happy to help. Do I need to use my phone every time? Not necessarily. There are two easy options to access your profile when you visit: Use the Technogym app on your phone: Scan the QR code on the equipment to load your personalised settings, including resistance levels, seat positions and programme details. Use a wristband: If you’d rather leave your phone in your bag, you can use a wristband instead. Just tap it on the kiosk when you enter a BioCircuit, Pulse Pod or Hub Room and it will automatically up the equipment you use throughout your session. All of these options give you instant access to your profile and make sure your workouts are tailored to you. You can choose whichever method suits you best, and if you ever forget either, a member of staff can help you get set up manually. So no, you don’t have to have your phone on you at all times. What’s the difference between the Technogym App and the Wristband? Both the Technogym app and wristband give you access to your personalised training profile, but they work a little differently: Technogym App: This is where you can book fitness sessions, view your Wellness Score, track your progress over time, and get extra training tips or goal suggestions. When you're in the space, you simply scan the QR code on each piece of equipment to load your settings. Technogym Wristband: The wristband is a quick login tool. Tap it on the equipment and your saved settings (from your last CheckUp or session) will load automatically. It doesn’t track progress or let you book; it’s purely for ease during workouts. In short: Use the app to book and track. Use the wristband to train without needing your phone. You can use one or both, whichever fits your routine best. Can I use Sostena without the Technogym app? Yes. While the Technogym app is very helpful, it’s not essential. Here’s what you can do without it: Fitness sessions (like BioCircuit, Fitness Hub, The Studio): You can still take part, just speak to a member of staff and we’ll book you in and help you log into the equipment. Café and activity bookings (like AR darts or ping-pong): These are booked through the Sostena website , so no app is needed for these at all. That said, the Technogym app does make things easier, especially for booking fitness sessions, checking availability, viewing your Wellness Score and tracking your progress. But if apps aren’t your thing, that’s absolutely fine. We’ll always have another way to help you get moving. How does the Technogym system adapt to me? Once you’ve completed your Technogym CheckUp , the system creates a personal training profile based on your strength, range of movement, and goals. From there, it adapts in a few key ways: Automatic adjustments: When you start a session on the BioCircuit or other Technogym equipment, the equipment recognises you (via the app, wristband or simple login) and instantly adjusts the seat height, resistance level, and exercise timing, no need to set anything manually. Progress tracking: Each time you train, the system logs your performance. It gradually increases resistance or duration as you improve, so you’re always challenged at the right level; not too easy, not too hard. Personalised programmes: Based on your CheckUp and goals, the system recommends routines tailored to your ability, whether you’re new to exercise, recovering, or training regularly. It’s smart, supportive, and designed to keep you moving at your own pace. Can I train in more than one space in a single visit? Yes, you’re welcome to use multiple spaces during the same visit. Just book the sessions you want, and we’ll make sure the space and equipment are ready for you. For example, you might start with a BioCircuit session, head to the café for a break, then finish with a game of squash or a wellness class. As long as the timings work and there’s availability, you can move between areas however suits you. Just remember: Fitness activities (BioCircuit, Fitness Hub, The Studio, Bolt-Ons, Classes) are booked through the Technogym app or by speaking to a member of our team. Activity Café sessions (AR darts, UV ping-pong, etc.) are booked via the Sostena website. There’s no limit on how many different spaces you use. Booking & Usage How do I book fitness spaces? Booking fitness spaces at Sostena is simple, here’s how it works: Use the Technogym app This is the easiest way to book sessions for BioCircuit, Fitness Hub, The Studio, Squash Courts, and group fitness classes. Just log in, browse available times, and reserve your slot. Don’t want to use the app? No problem, you can also book by speaking to a member of staff in person or contacting us by phone or email. We’ll check availability and get you booked in. Your booking window depends on your membership: Free members can book up to 7 days in advance Paid memberships offer up to 14 days and additional perks Booking ahead helps make sure the equipment and space you need is ready for you, and it keeps things smooth for everyone. Can I turn up without booking? You can, but we always recommend booking ahead if you can. If you turn up without a booking, we’ll do our best to find you a space, but availability isn’t guaranteed, especially during busy times. Some sessions (like BioCircuit) have limited capacity and need setup based on your personal profile, so booking helps us prepare and avoid delays. Here’s a quick guide: Fitness sessions (BioCircuit, Fitness Hub, The Studio, Squash Court, Bolt-Ons): Best booked in advance via the Technogym app or by contacting us . Activity Café games: Also best booked online (via the Sostena website ), but we may have walk-in slots if no one else has reserved. Social and café spaces: You’re always welcome to drop in, no booking needed for coffee, board games, or casual meetups. So while walk-ins are possible, booking gives you peace of mind and the best experience. Can I use more than one space in a session? Yes, your session at Sostena can include as many spaces as you like, as long as each one is booked in advance. For example, you might start with a BioCircuit workout, then head straight into a group class or cool down with a game of AR darts in the Activity Café. As long as you’ve booked each activity, you’re welcome to move between them in one visit. There’s no limit on how many areas you can combine. Just plan your timings and make your bookings ahead of time so everything runs smoothly. What happens if I’m late or miss a booking? If you’re running late, don’t worry, we’ll always do our best to help. But here’s how it works: For fitness sessions (BioCircuit, Fitness Hub, The Studio, Classes): Your spot is reserved for the time you’ve booked. If you arrive late, you may still be able to join, but your session time won’t be extended. If the session is full or you miss too much of it, we might ask you to rebook. For Activity Café bookings (AR darts, ping-pong, etc.): We’ll hold your booking for a short while, but if you don’t show up and haven’t let us know, we may release the space so someone else can use it. You cancel via your members area up to 12hrs before your session, but after that we reserve the right to charge you. If you miss a session completely, there’s no penalty, but repeated no‑shows can affect booking privileges, especially during busy periods. If you know in advance you can’t make it, just cancel your booking via the app or drop us a quick message, either by calling us (01726 247 742 ) or sending us a text to 07833 200 460. Can I share bookings with friends or family? In most cases, yes, but it depends on what you’ve booked and what membership you’re on. If you’re on a Family membership: You can book sessions for anyone covered by your plan: up to two adults and all children in the same household. Just make sure each person has their own profile so we can tailor sessions like BioCircuit or Fitness Hub properly. If you’re on another membership: You can’t directly share your bookings, but friends and family can create their own free Casual accounts to join you. You can then book sessions at the same time (subject to availability). For Activity Café games and social spaces: Yes. These are designed to be enjoyed together. Just book the slot through the website and bring your group along. If you’d like to bring someone with you and aren’t sure how to book for them, just ask and we’ll help you get sorted .
